After our great thread was cut short on the Linked In group, we have decided to start our own page. I am working with a couple of people from the thread and as soon as it is finalized, it will be posted here. I really enjoyed the way we were able to help each other with the blogs that were being posted along with other info that helped those who chatted there almost daily. We will keep you updated!

I’ve been a rather absentee participant again for the past while due to school commitments, but I’m really sorry to hear this happened! Even though I didn’t comment often, I really enjoyed your thread, and loved being able to see all the hard work people put into their blogs! I’ve even made a few friends from participating on that thread. A shame indeed!

I agree! It was a sudden end and I had left some links on it that I would have saved if I knew it was going to be cut. However, it is what it is, and we move on. I met some great people, such as yourself, too!

Love to have some input for content and a name. I would like it to be a place where writers can go to promote the blogs, but I know this is not unique. I would like it to have links to contests, Places for critiques, local support venues and such as well.
What do you think?

I think the idea of a “full support” network for writers in general would be a great venue. Technical skill help, frustrations with the writing life, social networking profiles, the whole gambit. It would create a broad network of support, leave us with many options to keep the group growing, and ideally encourage others to share their trials and triumphs. Perhaps we could even have guest posts from established authors…
Since there are already so many sincere, and empathetic people here, I would think the new group would be a fantastic resource for writers at all stages…

I was playing around with “Writers Department” – “Writers Terminal” – “Writers-help-writers”
But I really do like your name. “Writers Gateway” does sound great!
Do you have some kind of a “logo” you need to provide with the group? If yes, maybe I can help you there.

Liz… I think Writer’s Gateway sums up the ideas quite well. It welcomes writers of all aptitudes and stages, and suggests a launch into different “destinations”. It’s also easy to remember which is important. You’ve got my vote!

I have no idea. I was away for a bit and when I had the chance to get to my e-mail and tried to respond to some comments, it was gone. That’s ok we will get the next one up and running and be able to enjoy each others company in an interactive/supportive way. At least we were able to meet each other and enjoy the new friendships. I am thankful for this!
